Faction Cross Country
On Friday 8 June, students from Pre Primary to Year Six participated in the annual Faction Cross Country. The children all displayed leadership, sportsmanship and perseverance and the final result was very close. Congratulations to St Joseph’s who were the winners – it came down to the final race with all three factions within a few points of each other prior to this.
Life Link Day 2018
On Wednesday, St Mary’s School celebrated Life Link Day. The children made the cards in their classroom before coming together as a school to take part in a liturgy which reinforced the message of Life Link being one of generosity. Thank you to all the parents that supported LifeLink fundraising through the purchasing of a sausage sizzle lunch and donating a gold coin so that their children could wear free dress. Funds raised through the LifeLink Campaign will support various agencies within the Archdiocese including: Centrecare, Catholic Migrant Mission, i.d.entity.wa, Natural Fertility Services, The Living Centre, Catholic Association for Deaf and Hearing Impaired People, Shopfront, Emmanuel Centre, Djooraminda, Cross Roads Community and Samaritan Projects. Special thanks go to Georgia Wood and her colleagues Michael Paterson and Ben Ferris who cooked the sausage sizzle lunch at St Mary’s School.
Bruce Rock Cross Country
The annual Bruce Rock Cross Country was held on Friday 15 June at the Bruce Rock Golf Course. Congratulations to all the competitors for the leadership, sportsmanship and respect of others that they displayed. They all competed admirably. St Mary’s placed 3rd in the Primary Division and 6th overall.
A special congratulations goes to:
Boys Eight Years and Under: William Elliott – 1st
Girls Ten Years and Under: Lucy Newton – 4th
Girls Eleven Years and Under: Charlotte Grant – 2nd
On Thursday 14 June we were fortunate enough to be able to participate in a football clinic run by the WA Football Development Commission. Daniel Giles did a fantastic job of being coach for the day and the students all learnt lots of new skills.
